How would you use Pantone’s Color of the Year 2014, Radiant Orchid, in a living space?

The New Holguin Home Collection which previews in summer 2014 is full of purples, pinks & blues. Since the Holguin colors are purple, we found it absolutely fabulous to include Pantone's Radiant Orchid into our collection. You will see it in some of the jewelry pieces and home accessories.

What’s one cool new trend you predict for 2014?

Livable outdoor space that is truly livable!

If you had an unlimited budget, what is the first change you would make to your own home or personal space?

With an unlimited budget I would add a large livable outdoor space to my home which would include a theater area, a Jacuzzi next to the existing beach area, a fire pit area and a vegetable garden next to the existing pergola. I would also add a home office with an open view to the entire above area so I can create in peace every day!

What is the most difficult type of client to work with? What is your best advice for dealing with this type of client?

The most difficult client is the one that hires a professional designer but wants to do everything themselves because they say they watched a lot of HGTV and know the way it is done.

My best advice is to interview the client thoroughly before you hire each other. You have to know the type of client you want to work with and really get into their psyche before you say yes to a project. Never take on a project for money; it will always turn out badly.
