Since opening in April 2014, the Robin’s Nest Treehouse Hotel has offered guests a balance between the comfort of a hotel stay and the authenticity of an outdoor camping experience.
The German resort houses seven cabins. Four are situated on the ground level, while the other three “treehouses” are positioned high above ground. Each cabin can accommodate multiple people, with the largest space able to house a family of eight. There is a tipi fire tent that can accommodate four people and the Waldbar, which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Everything from the beds to the tables to the chairs is built using all natural materials.
Ideal for nature enthusiasts, these ‘castles in the air in the countryside” present visitors with an outdoor living experience, while also offering some of the amenities found in most standard hotels, such as electricity, electric heaters, and cast iron stoves.
Though the cabins currently aren’t equipped with in-room flush toilets, there are plans in place for both flush toilets and showers with warm water to be added within the next year or so. Guests currently use the nearby Berlepsch Castle hotel for showering. Also, the resort may soon be getting a spa with a natural swimming pool.
Peter Becker, the Nest’s owner and creator, also has his sights set on expanding and creating a village of sorts full of his treehouse structures.
A stay at the Robin’s Nest Treehouse Hotel will currently run you about 150 euros per night.
