Haute Living cover star Zaha Hadid recently added this incredible structure in Baku, Azerbaijan to her design portfolio. Zaha Hadid Architects completed the Heydar Aliyev Centre as a modern cultural center composed of fluid and reflective surfaces, a place for concerts, exhibitions, conventions and more.

Glass fiber panels and concrete join together to create wave-like walls with curved glass windows, and the space offers well-placed outdoor lighting to accentuate the building's shape.

Inside and out, the structure pays homage to traditional Islamic architecture in the form of fluid columns and ornamental patterns.

To support this unique modern design, structural support is provided by a space frame system and concrete structure to allow for plenty of open interior space without supportive columns.
