About today's panelists:
- Modlin is Founder of Modlin Group, which has closed transactions in excess of $2 billion, including a record-setting $77 million New York single-family townhouse.
- Steinberg is one of New York’s most successful and prominent brokers, grossing over $150 million in sales yearly, and star of “The American Dream New York City” on WLNY-CBS.
Highlight quotes:
Modlin: "This quarantine has caused all of us to look inward and redefine what home means to us. This is a very unusual time... I expect people to come out of this with a strong desire to buy real estate. I think we'll see a resurgence of interest in single-family environments with outdoor space, townhouses, boutique condominiums with fewer units, and fully amenitized buildings... Now is the time to do your homework. Learn and develop an encyclopedic knowledge of comps. You need to know your numbers."
Steinberg: "There will be pent-up demand for purchasing real estate. I think our biggest challenge when we get back into business is going to be buyers and sellers' perspectives... It's going to take really seasoned professionals to be able to close a deal and do what's best for your seller/buyer... (Before,) you had a launch event for a new development with hundreds of brokers. I believe those days are over... There are deals to be made as long as they are fair and reasonable. There will be a lot of business being made if both sides (buyers and sellers) adjust."
