After nearly a decade on and off the market, designer Tommy Hilfiger’s duplex penthouse at the Plaza Hotel is no longer for sale, Mansion Global reported.
Hilfiger bought the four-bedroom, five-bathroom residence at the top of the iconic New York City building in 2008 for $25.5 million.
Later that same year, he listed it for $50 million, with no luck.
Before relisting the apartment for $80 million in 2013, Hilfiger invested $20 million into updating the interior with lavish finishes and furnishings throughout the 18th and 19th floors.
The residence encompasses one of the building’s four domed cupolas, which Hilfiger stripped and converted into a breakfast nook.
A diamond-checkered deck overlooks Fifth Avenue and Central Park.
The office is painted in black varnish, and an Andy Warhol painting of Elizabeth Taylor adorns the living room.
After a few more price reductions and re-listings, the unit was most recently re-listed last November for $58.9 million. Hilfiger will reportedly be keeping the residence after all.
