The stylish property functions as a simultaneous home and workspace, previously hosting renowned stars David Bowie, Tina Turner, and of course, Tim Burton who wrote his 2019 rendition of “Dumbo” in the east wing. While the space emulates the whimsy of Burton’s films, it is no longer in his use. In 2018, it was listed on the market for $29.4 million and last year, was once more briefly available for purchase. Now, the property is listed at $27.8 million with a rental option of $20.9 thousand per week.

Inspired by Paris’ Maison de Verre, Eglon House was built from scratch over six years before its completion in 2016. The property serves as a stylistic resident and workspace spanning two buildings and 13,000 square feet in the heart of central London. With its exposed structure, glass block shape, and open layout, the east wing resembles a glowing lantern. It features a grand salon, professional kitchen, fine dining room, orangery, and bedroom suite equipped with a distinctive copper bath. The west wing of the property is Art Deco inspired with a tall living room, kitchen, and open courtyard. Its two upper levels include three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a study. Further into the property is a pool with a waterproof screen and mechanical floor allowing the space to double as a cinema.

“There is a prescience in the design of Eglon House in how it meets the demands of the world now,” said Howard Kayman of luxury real estate agency Aston Chase. “It combines lateral studio spaces with intimate residential parts and successfully blurs the boundary between the two. A space like this is a rarity.”
