A penthouse in San Francisco set a new record for the city’s most expensive condominium unit sold by square foot, Mansion Global reported.

Spanning 4,048 square feet, the four-bedroom, two-story apartment at The Pacific in the Pacific Heights neighborhood sold for $15.875 million, at $3,921 per square foot.

A 2,000-square-foot terrace, boasting views of the Bay and Golden Gate Bridge, is affixed to the penthouse.

The buyer is listed as venture capitalist Steven Merrill, according to property records. The sale closed in January.

Described on its website as “a modern reflection of classic elegance in one of the world’s most coveted enclaves,” The Pacific, which opened in July 2016, offers a varying selection of 76 units––from one-, two-, and three-bedroom flats, to three-level townhomes and customizable penthouses, priced up to $20 million.

The Pacific Penthouse Collection comprises seven seventh-floor penthouses, in addition to four two-level “Grand Penthouses,” all designed by Handel Architects.

Framed by panoramic, ceiling-height windows offering stunning views of the city in every direction, these penthouses feature floor plans, ranging from 2,139 square feet to 4,048 square feet, with expansive, light-filled living areas.

Building amenities include a full-service concierge, a valet, an observatory lounge overlooking the Bay and Golden Gate Bridge, and an exceptionally equipped fitness center.

The Pacific is now more than 80 percent sold.
