Rising at 676 feet, the building that is projected to be the city’s tallest residential tower is currently under construction in Downtown Los Angeles. According to a press release, the tower, alongside two other luxury residential buildings, is part of the billion-dollar mixed-use development, Oceanwide Plaza.

The complex, which will be located next to the Staples Center and L.A. Live, will also comprise a five-star Park Hyatt hotel, affixed to an approximately 166,000-square-foot open-air galleria, known as The Collection at Oceanwide Plaza, designed to host an assortment of shops and restaurants. A nearly 700-foot ribbon-shaped LED banner, prominently displayed along Figueroa Street, will wrap around the building.

A total of 504 modern, luxury residences will make up the three residential towers, which will be positioned atop the seven-story podium. Most will be designed as two-bedroom layouts, each with a private balcony.

The design will be a departure from the standardized glass curtain and masonry architecture of downtown Los Angeles, instead, introducing a sleek white and grey design, says Thomas Feng, CEO of Oceanwide Plaza LLC, the U.S. subsidiary of developer Oceanwide Holdings.

Residents will have access to full concierge services and private parking, as well as exceptional amenities, such as an 8,000-square-foot deck with a running track and three swimming pools.

Within the nearly 1.5 million-square-foot Oceanwide Plaza development, Park Hyatt Los Angeles, the fifth Park Hyatt location in the U.S., will consist of 184 guest rooms, including 34 premium suites that are custom-designed for a regionally sophisticated look by interior design firm Studio Munge.

Oceanwide Plaza, spanning nearly 1,500,000 square feet on 4.6 acres, will be the first project by China-based developer Oceanwide Holdings to be completed in North America. Construction broke ground in March 2015 and is projected to be completed in early 2019.
