Spike Lee is selling his Upper East Side home for a cool $32,000,000, and it has a pretty interesting history. Known to many as Hatch House, this 8,292-square-foot, two bedroom, two bathroom space up on 63rd Street formerly belonged to artist Jasper Johns and came into Lee’s hands for $16.6M in 1998.
Renowned architect Frederick Sterner is known for his design of much of 63rd street in Spanish-renaissance style, and Hatch House, it seems, is one of the only residences left in it’s original condition.
Though other details and large interior photographs are unavailable, Curbed reports a central courtyard with a fountain as a prominent feature.
