Winter’s wrath delivered an unprecedented punch to roads, cars, homes, shovels and lower lumbars this winter. But one person’s blizzard is another’s winter paradise—especially when you compare snow-blowing out of the house to skiing out of it.
Ski-in/ski-out estates offer the convenience and benefits of a ski resort in the privacy of a luxury home. Spring may be here, but in these luxury homes (in Colorado, Utah, and Canada) winter doesn’t officially end until skis are hung up for the season. Here are six spectacular ski-friendly estates that may be on the market. We were certain until one sold today! So strike fast before they sell—or before the snow melts.
Magnificent Bald Eagle Club Mansion
Located at the peak of Deer Valley’s Silver Lake Village area in Park City, this 14,000-square-foot gated estate in the exclusive Bald Eagle Club offers panoramic vistas, privacy evergreens, vaulted ceilings, “extreme security” (we’re not sure if this means alarms, motion-sensors or armed guards) and its pièce de résistance—a ski-in/ski-out lounge.
Built in 1992 on 7 Roamer Court and designed by Park City architect Rick Otto and renowned Guggenheim Museum renovator Charles Gwathmey, the gated mansion—priced at $15.5 million—boasts seven bedrooms, 10 full bathrooms, two kitchens, a ski room, multiple living rooms, an indoor pool, a spa, a sauna, a wet bar, a billiards room, a covered deck and patio, and caretaker’s quarters. The ski home is primed for entertaining whether you strap on skis or not.
Interior décor and art with extensive red-hued Native American themes is by Naomi Leff, who worked with fashion and Hollywood elite such as Giorgio Armani, Ralph Lauren, Steven Spielberg and Tom Cruise.

Park City's Villa Casa Nova
Villa Casa Nova is a Deer Valley Resort ski-in/ski-out estate that was voted the “Best Ski Chalet in the United States” by World Ski Awards in 2013 and 2014. The chalet was scheduled to go to the highest bidder without reserve this Saturday, March 28th via DeCaro Luxury Real Estate Auctions. But stop the presses—the owner apparently received an offer he or she couldn’t refuse. No word on the final sale price, but it was last listed at $9.75 million.
The sprawling 12,000-square-foot retreat has seven bedrooms and 10-and-a-half bathrooms that can accommodate up to 25 people. Villa Casa Nova is located within Deer Crest Estates, the exclusive gated community comprising more than 600 acres of land in Park City. All homeowners in Dear Crest Estates become part of the Deer Crest Master Association, which facilitates security, snow removal and maintenance of private roads, snow-making on trails, and grooming and patrolling of private ski trails.
The home’s main showcase is a skiers' lodge with ski lockers, boot dryers, lounge, and ski-in/ski-out access to runs. Mysteriously, it also has a secret one-bedroom, one-bathroom suite hidden behind a door disguised as a book shelf (a panic room to ward off sinister ski bandits?).
Other highlights include: three bars; heated patios; two outdoor hot tubs, and two outdoor fireplaces; a gourmet kitchen with wood-burning pizza oven and espresso bar; wine cellar; and a 15-person, THX-certified theater with 133-inch screen. The estate’s main-level master suite has a stone fireplace, walk-in closet, private balcony and an ensuite bathroom with his-her vanity sinks and a Jacuzzi tub. Additional amenities at Villa Casa Nova include multiple heated patios, a heated driveway that leads to an attached, three-car garage, and a caretaker’s apartment with a separate entrance.
