Russian Billionaire Vladimir Doronin Buys $358M Luxury Hotel Group

Russian Billionaire Vladimir Doronin, known perhaps most famously as a former beau of Naomi Campbell, was recently found to be the investor behind the acquisition of Aman Resorts.

The luxury hotel group includes Amanyara in Turks & Caicos and Amanpuri in Thailand, and Doronin collaborated with Aman Resorts Group Ltd. (a company owned by Adrian Zecha) and Peak Hotels & Resorts Group Ltd. to complete the transaction.

According to The Wall Street Journal, “Shares of Indian property developer DLF Ltd. 532868.BY +2.03% were up more than 4% on Monday (Feb 10) after the company said it had sold its Amanresorts chain of luxury hotels in a transaction valued at $358 million.”
