Actor Tobey Maguire, known for his lead roles in the Spider-Man trilogy, Seabiscuit, and The Great Gatsby, has paid $12,965,000 for a newly-built mansion in Los Angeles’ Brentwood Park, according to Yolanda’s Little Black Book, a Hollywood real estate blog.

This home purchase comes after he and his wife of nine years Jennifer Meyer announced their split and listed their Santa Monica home for sale in October.

Nearly nine years earlier in January 2008, Maguire purchased a nearly 1-acre vacant Brentwood Park-adjacent lot for $10 million. Today, the property is still undeveloped. In January 2015, he bought former talk show host Ricki Lake’s plantation-style estate just across the street for $8,450,000, with the intent to flip the home, which he did a little over a year later. Both properties are located around the corner from Maguire’s latest home buy.

North of Sunset Boulevard, the three-story, modern traditional-style residence was constructed on .38 acres with stunning canyon views, according to the listing. The timeless, six-bedroom, seven-and-a-half-bathroom home has a three-car garage affixed to the front of it and a spacious, grassy front yard.

Inside, three light-filled levels can be accessed via an in-home elevator. Oak floors and whitewashed walls throughout create a warm, polished ambience. In the master bedroom, there are his-and-hers bathrooms and his-and-hers walk-in closets. The suite itself is sheltered by vaulted beam ceilings and is warmed by a black marble fireplace.

The kitchen is connected to the family room, which has a brick-lined fireplace and lofty windows that open up to the backyard. There is also a step-down living room with a black marble fireplace, a formal dining room, and a gallery that opens up to the back patio. The backyard features an infinity pool and inset spa and a built-in barbecue.

The natural light-filled basement level boasts a sitting room with a wet bar, a theater, a gym, a laundry room, a wine cellar, a storage room, and maid’s quarters.
