Sold for $31 million, a charming oceanfront home in Southampton broke the record for the highest sale of the year so far in the Hamptons, local publication 27East.com reported.

That record was previously held by East Hampton’s 32 Middle Lane, which was owned by late Texas financier, Daniel Breen, and sold for approximately $25 million last month.

Built in 1997, the estate at 328 Gin Lane was originally listed for $39.5 million in 2014 and more recently, for $32 million.

The 2,500-square-foot residence, sited on 2.64 acres, has four bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms. Outside, there is a heated pool, bordered with elaborate sculptures, and a tennis court.

The sellers were the children of the late businessman John F. Poster, who died in 2014. He bought the property for $175,000 and also owned an apartment in New York City at 1010 Fifth Ave.
