“Minnewoc Mansion,” a near replica of Anne Boleyn’s (King Henry VIII’s second wife) Hever Castle in England, has been listed for $10.5 million as the most expensive estate for sale in southeastern Wisconsin, Mansion Global reported.
Sitting on 7.2 acres and over 800 feet of frontage on Oconomowoc Lake, the 16,000-square-foot residence has six bedrooms and 10 bathrooms, as well as a four-car garage.
That total acreage also includes a private island on the lake.
Though its located on Pabst Road, the mansion was actually built in 1892 for Chicago brewer, George Bullen, who bought the land in 1888 and spend years documenting the lake environment.
Rough-hewn stone walls, dangling chandeliers in every room, and medieval-style architecture give the opulent estate a historic, dated essence, however, it has been completely renovated, since its current owners bought it in 1999, with a significant addition in 2014. They paid $211,000 for the property.
The listing at 35308 Pabst Road is held by Jon Spheeris of Coldwell Banker Elite.
