MG Developer Presents New Art Installation At Balboa Plaza In Coral Gables

One of Coral Gables most popular and beloved parks, Balboa Plaza, has just received a Coral Carpet to accompany the park's massive stone bench. The addition marks the completion of MG Developer's outdoor “living room” setting.

The project was initiated in 2018 by the Miami based company MG Developer as a contribution to the city’s Art in Public Places program. MG Developer’s most recent addition to the park coincides with its ongoing mission to cement Miami and the surrounding area as one of the foremost living destinations in Florida, inside and out.

The Coral Carpet, which spans the length of the 30-foot stone bench behind it, is an inlaid, terrazzo piece that depicts an intricate floral pattern representative of the city’s diverse and rich culture. The technique used in creating this installation was originally developed in Italy and reflects Coral Gables’ fascination with Mediterranean-style architecture.

Both the terrazzo carpet and the stone bench are situated under one of Balboa Plaza’s massive banyan trees, making these recent additions the perfect place to lounge and take in the scenery with friends and family.

For MG Developers, the Balboa Plaza project is the latest effort in filling the Coral Gables and Miami area with functional, aesthetically pleasing developments that serve to enrich the city for residents and visitors alike. For those who enjoy a sunny day at the park, Balboa Plaza’s latest addition is a must-see.
