There's no denying that Manhattan boasts some of the priciest real estate in the world, let alone in the US. Recently the real estate group Curbed listed the top ten most expensive rentals currently on the market in New York City. Below, Haute Residence picks its five favorite from the list of luxury homes.

100 East 50th Street, #33A
Monthly rent: $150,000
Located in the Waldorf Towers, this 6000-square-foot rental boasts 5 bedrooms, 6.5 baths, high ceilings, a 24 foot marble entry, restored original details, a wine refrigerator, and a modern kitchen with double ovens.

100 East 50th Street
Monthly rent: $135,000
This 3,200-square-foot rental is also located in the Waldorf Towers and features a rotunda entry with a trompe l'oeil, crystal chandelier, French doors leading to the living space, three bedrooms, three and a half baths, and the master suite with ample closet space.

768 Fifth Avenue
Monthly rent: $125,000
The 'Astor Suite' at The Plaza Hotel is fitted with 12 rooms, 4 bedrooms and 5 baths. The 5,087-square-foot home has a library, English oak paneling, "hand-hammered leather walls from France," 14-foot-ceilings, and a guest suite with a large terrace, and lavish furniture included. What's more, this past May the price dropped from $165K to $125K.

Monthly rent: $100,000
This Park Imperial apartment located on the 64th floor boasts 8,000 square feed, 6 bedrooms, 6.5 baths, a library, a reading lounge and a "sunset room."

144 Duane Street
Monthly rent: $100,000
This Tribeca mansion features 10 rooms, a 2,200-square-food roof deck, four bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a central custom-made glass staircase connecting all the floors and a cumulative 13,5000 square feet of space.
