Editor's Note: Los Angeles real estate expert Joyce Rey talks about the market's performance during the second quarter of 2020.

What do you ask clients to not have displayed when showing their home for sale?

I just ask my clients to simplify. I tell them to clear out small items, personal items, and valuables. Most sellers accumulate too much over time. Their homes will often show in a better light with less distractions.

How did the second quarter of 2020 real estate perform in your market?

April and May showed a significant decline in sales volume. However, June picked up dramatically. So, the overall sales volume for the quarter was not as low as expected. The high-end market performed very well during this time.

Is it currently a buyer or seller’s market in your market?

It is still a seller's market! Well-priced properties frequently see multiple offers.

What do you love about the housing market in your market?

I am passionate about it all. I love the diversity of architectural styles, as well as the changing personalities of the various neighborhoods. I love the excitement of the latest architectural designs and the beauty of the many landmark properties! I also find the extraordinary city/ocean/pastoral views an exciting plus in so many areas. Most of all, I love the people - The wonderful buyers and sellers that I have the pleasure of working with on a daily basis.
