Now that Summer is close to ending, what do you see as the takeaways from the last 6 months?

Being in this business for over 30 years we have seen several disruptors in the market. Even if we encountered challenges to the way we do business, we have used our resources and creativity to pivot where necessary. The takeaway for the future is that we know business can and will be done no matter the obstacles. We know we can thrive in a challenging business environment and that the way we have done business in the past may change, but the results can and will be better with those changes. Real estate is at all times a business of communication. We found that everyone is super focused on their homes or on the one they want to purchase. Clearly, the clients are looking for more peaceful locations. The gated communities and beach properties are high in demand. Of course, the open floor plan is still favorable however; separate office spaces and guest quarters are very sought after with the majority of the people working from home.

What activities can be done for Labor Day this year in Thousand Oaks?

We thrive in the outdoors and all outdoor activities are available to our residents. We have spectacular beaches nearby for family outings, world-class tennis and golf, boating on our local lakes, hiking and cycling trails in our beautiful Santa Monica mountains, parks and marinas, and wonderful outdoor dining restaurants.

Is there an area from which buyers relocating to your market.

We are seeing clients wanting to relocate from many areas in California and throughout the US. Any area where people feel confined due to high density, they are compelled, especially now, to seek out areas which offer more space, both indoors and out. The luxury market offers larger estates on estate-sized lots, which have a great appeal to our clients now.

How has your market been doing so far this year compared to this time last year?

We are on par with last year and will probably surpass that number by the end of the year going into 2021. The advisors are in a more communicative market place with their clients that create a stigma that is more viable to the surrounding clientele. It’s a dream for a broker. No motivation needed. We find consistent communication with our clients is essential now to stay on top of any new developments.
