The estate was bought by the legendary actor and his late wife, Kelly Preston, as newlyweds in 1991 after visiting actor Kirstie Alley on the island. Their dream was to be able to accommodate 50 of their family members for the Christmas holiday, which they had great success with.

Built in 1903, the massive 20-bedroom home sits on 50-acres of land with 10,830 square feet of interior space, views of the Penobscot Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, as well as direct access to the water and a deep dock on Sabbathday Harbor.

On the first floor, the 42-room shingle-style residence has a living room with a fieldstone fireplace, custom bar area, a dining room with a fireplace, an oversized kitchen with a walk-in refrigerator and pantry. An office and laundry room are also included.

The second floor holds the master bedroom suite that includes a private sun porch, sitting area, fireplace, and a full bathroom with a claw-foot tub and a separate shower. The second floor also holds an additional 14 bedrooms and four bathrooms.

The third floor was designed specifically to be the children’s wing. It includes four bedrooms, a full bathroom, a schoolhouse, a library, a diner, and a built-in theatre stage.

Outside, the estate features two sun porches and a back deck that holds a pool. The detached barn located on the property is also used as a garage.

The listing is held by Brian Wickenden of Legacy Properties Sotheby's International Realty
