This summer we’ve enjoyed tubing down Boulder Creek’s flowing waters, strolling through the Farmers Market, and experiencing spectacular theatrical performances at the Colorado Shakespeare Festival. As these hot summer days come to an end, we begin to look forward to autumn’s changing Aspen trees, cozying up next to the fireplace, and lively fall festivals in and around Boulder. Here are the most anticipated events happening throughout Boulder.
Boulder Fall Fest 2019
When: 9/13 - 9/15
Where: Pearl Street Mall
Each year, Pearl Street hosts a lively, multi-day celebration of the turning season. Folks get outside and enjoy the cooling weather while strolling along historic Pearl Street. Shop for original art, locally made goods, and dine on delicious eats from our favorite Boulder restaurants. This highly-anticipated event signals to the town that fall has officially begun.
Community Harvest Festival
When: 10/2, 4:00 - 7:00 pm
Where: Growing Gardens Urban Farm
Behold the fruits (and vegetables) from Colorado’s growing season and the hard work from community gardeners throughout Boulder County. This free event offers activities for children and adults, including a bubble machine, pumpkin painting, live music, and Biergarten. Bring your appetite and sample tasty eats from local food trucks at this exciting fall harvest celebration.
Whaaat!? Festival
When: 10/5, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Where: ATLAS Institute, CU Boulder
This fall event bills itself as a game festival, but not in the traditional way. Whaaat!? is an interactive experience for video-game lovers of all fascinations and specifically welcomes aspiring designers, artists, and other creatives interested in learning more about this industry. Tickets for panel discussions are limited to 175 participants, but the main arcade is open to everyone. For a truly different experience, check out this interactive festival at CU Boulder.
Wandering Reel Traveling Film Festival
When: 10/11 - 10/12
Where: The Nomad Playhouse
For the fourth year in a row, The Nomad Playhouse is gearing up to show award-winning, international films brought to our mountain haven by the Wandering Reel Traveling Film Festival. This much-anticipated festival boasts four collections of films encompassing difficult, inspiring, and controversial themes. Witness original art played out on a big screen at the Wandering Reel Traveling Film Festival, this fall.
Deck the Mall
When: 10/26 - 10/27
Where: 1300 Block of Pearl Street
Deck the Mall is both a charity event and holiday shopping extravaganza. If you desire to keep your holiday shopping local, there’s no better place to start than this artisan fair. Shop for everyone on your list while helping raise funds for Imagine! Foundation. Live music and a crafts area make this the perfect event for the entire family.
