A historic, 7-acre Connecticut estate will be auctioned off on May 19, according to press materials. Most recently listed for $4.75 million, the nearly 12,000-square-foot, Georgian-style residence in Ridgefield once belonged to the brother of illusionist Harry Houdini, Leopold Weiss.

Its original owner James Stoker, a U.S. Ambassador and banker, built the estate, known as “Sunset Hall,” in 1912 at one of the highest points in the area, with sweeping views of Long Island Sound and the Catskill Mountains.

The distant New York City skyline can also be seen from the property.

Other owners were Samuel Rubel, Brooklyn multimillionaire and beer baron, actor Robert Vaughn, and its current owner Jennifer Nobandegani, who has owned the estate since 2008.

"The most impressive features of the house are the spectacular views of Round Pond and the Berkshire Mountains from the rooftop," Nobandegani says. "The grounds are absolutely stunning. Sunset Hall is an architectural masterpiece. They don't make homes like this any more. It is one of a kind."

The home’s 22 rooms include 10 bedrooms, eight bathrooms, nine fireplaces, a chef’s kitchen, a sun room, and a marble-floored ballroom, among many other extravagant spaces throughout––in addition to a 1,500-square-foot guesthouse.

Outside, there is a 65-foot heated pool and 4,000-square-foot limestone terrace, as well as a tennis court.
