The West Village townhouse formerly belonging to Hilary Swank, was just purchased by Harry A. Lawton III, the president of Macy’s department stores, for $10.5 Million according to the public realty records. The sale of the home is one of the West Village’s biggest hits recently.

The property features three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms over the four floors of the townhouse. The interiors offer a modest yet chic approach to contemporary interior design with soft, neutral tones highlighting clean lines and consistent design throughout the home. The home also features central air, marble floors, an washer and dryer, stat of the art modern appliances in the kitchen, walk in closets, and a library—all fit into just over 3,700 square feet. The space also has a beautiful backyard garden to step out of the concrete jungle of the city and into some serene greenery for a few moments.

Located at 33 Charles Street, the home is in a beautiful neighborhood with the 1 and 2 trains running nearby at the Christopher Street Station. The area is also home to a wide array of bars, restaurants, and coffee shops like Fedora Bar, Café Cluny, and The Elk. The quiet area has become home in recent years to families and new parents looking for a neighborhood that’s quiet for children, but that’s not so far away from either the office or the buzz of city life in Manhattan.

The property, represented on both sides by Corcoran’s Robby Browne, Chris Kann, and Jennifer Ireland Kubis, represented the seller, Clyde and Summer Anderson, the owners of Books-A-Million. Alex Nicholas represented the buyers. Hilary Swank had lived in the home between 2002 and 2006. With all the home has to offer, it’s sale marks one of the West Villages biggest items being taken off the market.
