The 41-unit development will have waterfront Biscayne Bay views and access to the ocean as a "boater's dream" thanks to its private marina.
Building amenities will include a rooftop pool deck and lounge area; a state-of-the-art fitness center with Technogym equipment, a yoga studio, a spa with massage treatment rooms, changing facilities, and steam bath and sauna rooms. Onda will also feature personalized services, advanced security and technology along with a front desk reception, covered valet drop-off area, personal parking spaces in a fully enclosed garage, electric vehicle charging stations and bicycle storage, and residential storage space. The building will offer an integrated digital concierge along with readily accessible WiFi throughout all public spaces, and FTTH (fiber to the home) technology for voice, video, and high-speed internet.
Developers Ugo Colombo of CMC Group and Valerio Morabito of Morabito Properties tasked architect Bernardo Fort-Brescia of Arquitectonica to design the 8-story building that has over 300 feet of bay frontage. With construction estimated to begin in Fall 2021 and completion in 2023, Onda (Italian for "wave") will become a highlight for the boats enjoying a day out under the South Florida sun.

Here, Haute Residence sat down with Morabito for a Q&A on the new development and its design, location, and amenities.
Haute Residence: You have a well-known portfolio of developments in South Florida. What new goal do you hope to accomplish with ONDA Bay Harbor?
Valerio Morabito: Our goal is to deliver a timeless product with top-quality finishes and materials. My partner Ugo Colombo and I prioritize attention to detail, craftsmanship, and stellar architecture and design – and Onda embodies all of these guiding principles. Onda will be the address of choice for buyers seeking a boutique style home with all the conveniences of luxury condo living and the amenities that come with owning a piece of the Bay Harbor waterfront – more than 300 feet of bay frontage, a private marina, and sweeping views of Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic Ocean.

HR: How did the design come about for ONDA? What was the focus when designing it with Arquitectonica?
VM: Onda is the Italian word for wave. We imagined a design that would embody the waves of the ocean. Onda’s undulating exterior balconies reflects the movement of the water and the beauty of the bay.
HR: What do you expect the condo market in South Florida to be like when the project is delivered in 2023?
VM: We believe the Miami market is going to be strong for quite a while. Many people from all over the country are realizing Miami isn’t just an amazing place to visit – it’s an amazing place to live and conduct business from. As the concept of remote work has become more commonplace post-pandemic, more and more people are want to spend more time in South Florida and ultimately making the move here lured by our tropical weather, ideal tax climate and lower cost of living. Miami is a very business friendly city. I personally fell in love with Miami 20 years ago and I don’t know what there is not to like about it! There’s not much product that’s readily available that can be delivered in the next couple years. Especially in Bay Harbor – there’s little to no inventory that’s oceanfront or waterfront.

HR: In your opinion, what does a project as significant as ONDA say about the area of Bay Harbor Islands?
VM: Bay Harbor Islands is Miami’s best kept secret. Surrounded by some of South Florida’s finest shopping, beaches and schools, the area is synonymous with an upscale, family-oriented lifestyle that appeals to buyers from across the country and around the world. Onda will be a perfect addition to the neighborhood— a place immersed in nature, facing the crystal waters of Biscayne Bay and overlooking Haulover natural park. The ultimate oasis of peace and tranquility.
Colombo and Morabito previously partnered in 2016 to lead the development of Beach House 8, a nearby boutique waterfront condo building on Collins Avenue in Miami Beach. Most recently, Colombo and CMC Group delivered Brickell Flatiron, a 64-story luxury tower in Downtown Miami’s Brickell Financial District.
