Ellen DeGeneres Is Asking $45M for Her Enchanting 17-Acre Santa Barbara Estate

Ellen DeGeneres, host of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and her wife actress Portia de Rossi have just listed their 17-acre estate in Montecito, California for $45 million, The Wall Street Journal reported.

Situated in the Santa Barbara hills, the 10,500-square-foot estate, with six bedrooms and six bathrooms (two half), was built in the 1930s and designed architect Wallace Frost, the listing states.

DeGeneres and de Rossi bought the house in 2013 for $26.5 million and after bought the two adjacent properties.

They renovated the main house, using stone from the property to build an entertainment pavilion, known as Jordan Hall, consisting of a sunroom, a dining room, and an outdoor kitchen.

Intended to reflect the classical style of 17th century Italian villas, it was designed with 18th century tiles, terra cotta surfaces, wide wood flooring planks, rustic exposed ceiling beams, vintage light fixture, and vintage light fixtures.

Behind 18th century Spanish gates and down a quarter-mile drive, lined with olive and eucalyptus trees, fountains, and colorful gardens, the enchanting two-story residence has nine fireplaces, several libraries, two swimming pools, and a tennis court.

The couple sold their Hollywood Hills home for $10 million in August and listed another home near the Los Angeles Country Club for $7 million in October.
