Comedian Rita Rudner has listed her 5,000-square-foot oceanfront home in Monarch Bay for $8.97 million. The home features five bedrooms, five bathrooms, an elevator, a gourmet kitchen and a rear patio space with a spa.
Rudner and her husband, Martin Bergman, are looking to unload their Monarch Bay home, which was built in 2005 and is situated on a 7,378-square-foot lot in the gated Dana Point community of Monarch Bay. According to The Orange County Register, the home’s listing mentions “five bedrooms, heated floors, an elevator, Anigre cabinetry in several rooms, a gourmet kitchen with professional-grade appliances, electric solar shades, a media room, two fireplaces and an oversize, Zen-style tub in the master bedroom.”
There are panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and community amenities include a private club with beachfront dining and bar areas. There is also St. Regis Hotel butler service available on the beach, which includes chairs, towels and umbrellas, according to Rudner’s publicist, Jeff Abraham.
Abraham also noted that the home was recently featured in the film Thanks, an Indie comedy about three family Thanksgiving gatherings, which is making its national debut March 29 on Showtime. According to Zap 2 It, Rudner not only stars in the film, but she is also an executive producer. Bergman wrote and directed the film and selected a cast of “largely unknown members of a Southern California improvisational comedy troupe he and Rudner had worked with previously.”
Rudner and Bergman may be looking to leave their current home, but they adore the community so much they are actually staying close by. According to Abraham, the couple is actually building a home in Dana Point “so [they] can retire here.”
The property listed on the market is located at 331 Monarch Bay. Danielle Bowen of HOM Sotheby’s International Realty currently has the listing.
