Chloë Sevigny Shops East Village Co-Op

Actress and fashion designer Chloë Sevigny has placed her East Village garden apartment on the market. The East 10th Street property is listed for $1.7 million.

The apartment, which Sevigny has described as "womb-like," is 1,200 square feet and features one bedroom and one and a half baths. It also features beamed ceilings, built in bookshelves and a bedroom fireplace. Walls are accented with exposed brick, but less than when she purchased the property. She plastered some of the walls to hang her expansive art collection.

The kitchen features updated appliances and rustic cabinets. Both ends of the apartment have access to outdoor garden areas.

Sevigny says she's selling the apartment because the garden unit didn't provide enough light and she had grown tired of the rules in the building, which is also home to actress Parker Posey.
