Major League Baseball legend, Cal Ripken Jr.’s 26-acre Maryland estate, which has been both his home and training ground, has been listed for $9,750,000, Mansion Global reported.
Built in 1985 and renovated in the late 1990s, the six-bedroom residence, with 10 full and five partial bathrooms, is embellished throughout with sports memorabilia and baseball trophies.
Roughly 26,000 square feet, with an indoor batting cage and basketball court, the home is just a 30-minute drive from Baltimore’s Oriole Park.
The indoor space also has a gourmet kitchen, several walk-in closets, a steam shower, a Jacuzzi bathtub, an indoor movie theater with its own ticket booth, a gym, and a five-car attached garage.
On the grounds, there is a large pool, along with a baseball field and a scenic pond that is circled by a track, which the World Series winner and National Baseball Hall of Fame inductee used to train during the baseball season.
"The land itself is just as much of an amenity as the baseball diamond, batting cage, and indoor basketball court; you feel a sense of peace and serenity," says listing agent Charlie Hatter of Monument Sotheby’s International Realty.
