Nestled on the shores of Malibu and offering a picturesque view of Las Flores Beach and its bronzed lifeguards, the house belonging to Gregory J. Bonann, who co-created the beloved TV series, Baywatch, is on the market for $8.9 million.

A stone landing with marble steps leads down to the entrance of the four-story, four-bedroom, four-and-a-half-bathroom home, with seamless spaces opening to stacked beachfront decks, including one on the roof.

Furnished with Hawaiian-inspired décor, the home is designed for entertaining, with a grotto-style spa area and a large, sand-covered entertainment deck, consisting of TVs, built-in lounges and fire pits, and an outdoor grill.

The compound, which included an additional 2,618-square-foot residence, was first listed in 2010 for $18.5 million. That separate bungalow sold in 2012 for $5.25 million, the Los Angeles Times reported.

"This house lets the outside in," says Bonann, a lifeguard for more than four decades, who was recognized by the International Life Saving Federation and was an LA County Medal of Valor recipient. "When you’re inside it, it’s hard to tell where the house ends and the beach begins... I designed it so that the outside deck is the same height as the lifeguard tower. When I am in the house, I feel like I’m ‘watching the water,’ which is what we lifeguards always say.”

Bonann produced 289 episodes of Baywatch, Baywatch Nights, and Baywatch Hawaii, as well as directed 75 episodes and 400 of his signature music montages.
