At Home With Brad Pitt: A Closer Look At The A-Lister’s Residence

The blockbuster film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, has reinvented the iconic 1960's trio, Mod Squad; albeit, with a twist. Today's dynamic threesome now includes Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie and Leonardo DiCaprio. And the film itself basically pays tribute to the go-go dancing era, with an all-star cast honoring that bygone golden age of Hollywood: when glamour was over-the-top, thigh boots did the walking, palazzo pants was "wear" it was at, hip-huggers were the rage, miniskirts rocked, bright colored prints were mandatory, and the mustache and side burns were trending.

Keeping in mind the above, perhaps it's not so surprising that Brad Pitt's former and current diggs (since singledom has come to reign once more in his life) are modernized versions of that cool 60's era, and aim to celebrate the film's hipster eclectic vibe. In addition to being an actor, Pitt is also an architect aficionado who values environmentally friendly architecture, and he himself usually designs and decorates his own personal residences. And so, Pitt is obviously a fan of the 1960s.

And as Pitt knows all too well, architecture must fulfill both utilitarian and aesthetic requirements. And as inseparable as these requirements are, together they serve to create a design that speaks to a home's environs: climate conditions, local culture, neighborhood artistry and personal aspects of a homeowner's daily life. In order to get to know Pitt as the private man, friend and architect that he is, let's visit him at home, and take a behind-the-scenes look at one of his former residences that he took the time to remodel for over a three-year period.

It's been said Pitt is a homebody. And this living room screams comfy; understated, yet chic with a dab of 1960's decor. "I am very interested in architecture," said Pitt. "I've been asked if I'd ever direct, but me, I'd rather build. It's very similar to directing, because you get to walk among this piece of art, to live in it, be surrounded by it, which is just thrilling."

The celebrity trio -Pitt, Robbie and DiCaprio- can be easily pictured toasting the success of their new film in this room.

Soft, sultry and silky smooth. These SSSs made for some heavenly bliss for Pitt.

This room sets forth a sensational vibe: being a celebrity definitely has its perks. Pitt has said that he's "drawn to furniture design as complete architecture on a minor scale." This room proves that sentiment, and the circular, ceiling light fixture, cork rug and brick walls prove that groovy never goes out of style.

Brad Pitt

Whilst acting is my career, architecture is my passion," said Pitt. And this dining room elevates Pitt's passion for the plush and old-time 60's glamour.
