It is no surprise that DeGeneres' stylistic legacy continues this year, as she introduces her new, must-watch HBO Max show, “Ellen’s Next Great Designer.”
This show pushes the stylistic boundaries of interior design, and brings fresh faces and ideas into the design sphere; the future of design is certainly exciting and well within reach through the highs, lows, and challenges of this show.
First airing in late April, the show created buzz and enthusiasm in the design community as Ellen pushed up-and-coming designers outside of their creative comfort zones. The competitive spirit only grows from there. Hosted and judged by distinguished actor, Scott Foley, designers are motivated to create and fulfill concepts for innovative furniture pieces, as they draw inspiration from existing art and the raw materials provided for them.
Other critically acclaimed creatives join Foley as passionate furniture design judges on the show. Artist and designer Fernando Mastrangelo brings his flair and artistic eye to the judge's table, while interior designer Brigette Romanek brings her great fervor and expertise.
The three judges, the competing talent, and zealous DeGeneres bring a fresh and enlivening spirit to each episode, and the challenge of designing imaginative, functional, and artistic pieces of furniture, weekly, for a prize of $100,000, keeps competitors and viewers alike, on their toes.
