Editor's note: Real estate expert Cindy Shearin talks about South Bay, California real estate during the 3rd quarter of 2020 in this Q&A with Haute Residence.
Haute Residence: As Haute’s exclusive agent representing the South Bay, tell us more about the territory you represent besides Manhattan Beach?
Cindy Shearin: Our fantastic community, also known as the Beach Cities, is comprised of several small cities- El Segundo, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, Torrance, and The Palos Verdes Peninsula. The Palos Verdes Peninsula shall consist of four municipalities- Palos Verdes Estates, Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Estates, and Rancho Palos Verdes. Each township is unique to the next with its beaches, hills, horse ranches, cliffsides, nightlife, eateries, and shopping. In brief, the South Bay has something for everyone.

HR: How did the third quarter of 2020 real estate perform in the South Bay as a whole?
CS: We have a very healthy market with low inventory and many buyers are looking for opportunities to purchase. It is still not uncommon to see multiple offers on homes that come onto the market, especially at the entry-level product price point.

HR: Do you expect more or less activity in the 4th quarter for this year than previous years?
CS: Our projections show that we will continue to have a lot of activity throughout the last quarter due to the low inventory and the number of buyers still looking for the right opportunity to buy. During the holidays, we usually don’t see as much new inventory come on the market; however, we still have awaiting buyers. Therefore, this makes it a great time to sell one’s property instead of waiting until after the first of the new year.
