Matthew Chua of Chua Architecture transformed a 2,152-square-foot residence in 15 Central Park West, one of Manhattan’s most sought after buildings, into a modern and functional home inspired by 17th Century French architecture and fashion.

15 Central Park West is an architectural celebration of the building’s parkside vantage point. With its luxurious, full-block frontage on Central Park and show-stopping views in virtually every direction, 15 Central Park West offers the panoramic ideal for observing the light and color, nature and concrete that define life in New York.

Chua was tasked with a complete renovation (except for kitchen and master bath), including overhauling the powder room, guest bathroom, foyer, living room, dining room, built-in walk-in closets, and more.

Mid-century Austrian sconces and pendants illuminate the entry foyer, with a custom-designed console and wallpaper from Phillip Jeffries.
The living room invites guests with satin white millwork on all walls, Italian mid-century club chairs, sofa and tête-à-tête by Gregory Rockwell.

In the dining room, custom cove lighting with brass metal trim highlights the dining table and bistro table design by Gregory Rockwell made by Douglass Fanning. The breathtaking chandelier is also mid-century Austrian from John Sallibello.
The residence also features ample storage space and custom finishes throughout.

An impressive powder room serves as a main focal point for the residence, featuring Lilac Marble slabs with purple haze and sharp diagonal veining. The Tom Dixon Mirror Ball Pendant Light in gold is the cherry on top of a glamorous marble room.

The guest bathroom features large-format Statuarietto Marble. The custom frameless medicine cabinet, Fantini Linea Series accessories in chrome finish and Mitered edge stone shower niche detail add a touch of elegance to the home.
The master bedroom is dressed in blush pink and boasts a Gregory Rockwell bed and dressers and nightstands by Restoration Hardware. The Vladimir Kagan sofa screams luxury and fits perfectly with the French fashion theme.
