From outside, the hulk of glass and steel resembles a modern corporate office, or, perhaps, a bold public edifice. In reality, this is the 17,475-square-foot home of actor, producer and director, Tyler Perry, which he is selling for nearly $17 million.
Perched on 5 acres in the private Mulholland Estates in Beverly Hills, the house is on the market mere months after Perry purchased it for $14.5 million in August of last year. Boasting 10 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms, the abode provides the perfect setting for Hollywood-style entertainment. The massive home comes with a tennis court, outdoor dining terrace, a lavish pool with grotto and a motor court for 30 vehicles.
The home was built in 1992 for Alfred Mann, biotech pioneer and inventor. Famed for the creation of the insulin pump, Mann lived here until his death in 2016, when the house was listed for nearly $30 million. After a series of reductions, Perry snatched it off the market.
Perry, who has a knack for dealing and flipping luxury real estate, set a record in 2016 with the $17.5-million sale of his 35,000-sqaure-foot Atlanta mansion.
