Designed with a curved framework, mimicking the shape of a wave, the 1968-built, wood-and-concrete residence is lined with retractable walls of glass, herringbone-patterned floors, and wood slats that draw in natural light.

Thirty-seven feet of beachfront precedes the 3,400-square-foot interior, with a step-down living room, an eat-in kitchen, and five bedrooms and five bathrooms. Sheltered by an open-air covering, the swimming pool opens up to the rear deck.

Michael LaFetra, a film producer and serial collector-restorer of architecturally significant homes in the Los Angeles area, was the previous owner. He bought it in 2007 for $13.8 million. The home’s original owners sold it in 2004 to filmmaker, Steven Austin, for $7.6 million.
