Retired tennis champion, John McEnroe, just sold his Southampton beach house with a tennis court for $11.5 million, Mansion Global reported.
First listed in May 2016 for $14.5 million, with a reduced price of $12.5 million five months later, the 8,000-square-foot estate sits on 2.17 acres, with private beach access, in the Murray Compound neighborhood.
McEnroe and his wife singer Patty Smyth bought the residence for $4.2 million in 1999.
With eight bedrooms and eight full and two partial bathrooms, the main house features a living room with a vaulted ceiling, formal and casual dining rooms, a library, an office, a gym and a sunroom, the listing states.
The master suite has two bathrooms, a spacious dressing room, and French doors that open to a balcony.
Specimen trees and luscious gardens grow on landscaped green lawns outside, where there is a swimming pool and a tennis court.
The listing was held by Kathy Konzet of Sotheby’s International Realty. Pat Petrillo, also of Sotheby's International Realty, represented the buyer, whose identity was not revealed in property records.
