The Los Angeles home, where America’s beloved blonde bombshell Marilyn Monroe died in 1962, has been listed for $6,900,000, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Tucked behind tall gates at the end of a cul-de-sac in Brentwood, the 1929, four-bedroom, three-bathroom, hacienda-style house is located on a half-acre, with a pool and citrus orchard.
After her third marriage to playwright Arthur Miller, Monroe bought the 2,624-square-foot estate, partially furnished, in the early 1960s for $75,000.
Designed with beamed ceilings, terra cotta tile floors, casement windows, the listing states, it was the first home that she owned independently of a husband.
The residence’s recent owner purchased it in 2010 for $3.85 million.
Monroe died at 36 years old from an overdose of sedative drugs, classified by the Los Angeles police as “probable suicide.”
The listing at 12305 5th Helena Drive is held by Lisa Optican of Mercer Vine.
