The Connecticut estate once owned by legendary actress Katharine Hepburn has been relisted on the market as two separate homes, according to press materials.
Overlooking the Long Island Sound in Old Saybrook, the first residence is a 8,400-square-foot, three-story home on 1.5 acres, with a private dock on 220 feet of Long Island Sound frontage.
It also boasts views of the Connecticut River, a private pond, and a golf course.
The stunning six-bedroom, seven-and-a-half bathroom house, built in 1939, was renovated in 2005.
An expansion allowed more light to come through, with the addition of oversized windows, coffered ceilings, and built-in cabinetry.
The home was raised five feet to prevent flooding from then Sound during hurricanes.
Previously listed in 2014 for $14,800,000, it is now asking $11,800,000.
The second residence for sale is a 3,800-square-foot, three-bedroom house that was built on an adjacent 1.3-acre parcel in 2015.
Four decks overlook the Long Island Sound, Connecticut River, a pond, and a golf course.
Listed in 2015 for $6,880,000, this second house is now for sale for $5,880,000.
"This is a very special house with unparalleled views," says owner Frank Sciame. "If it was located on Long Island where our family roots are we would never sell it. We hope the next owners will enjoy it more than the six or seven weekends a year that we were able to spend there." The property is just a two-hour drive from both Manhattan and Boston.
It can also be reached within 35 minutes by seaplane or helicopter from Manhattan and within 45 minutes by boat from East Hampton or Sag Harbor.
Hepburn enjoyed the estate as a summer retreat for 65 years.
