The Charles, a luxury Upper East Side residential tower, has closed two penthouse units for a record-breaking $58.635 million, combined.
Penthouse One’s $37.94 million closing price has made the residence one of the highest priced on the Upper East Side. The spacious 12-bedroom, 12-and-a-half bathroom quadruplex features 12-foot ceilings, a custom-built interior private elevator, and terraces on two levels.
Penthouse Two, which closed for $20.695 million, is an eight-bedroom, eight-bathroom duplex featuring an interior circular staircase, a 1,200-square-foot dressing room and 11.5-foot ceilings. Both multi-floor penthouses feature amazing city views.
Setting a new standard in luxury design, The Charles, which broke ground in 2012, was designed by Ismael Leyya, the architect also responsible for the designs of other high profile residential developments and buildings, such as BKLYN AIR, Yves Chelsea, Place 57, Seattle’s Pagoda Towers, and Riverhouse. Located just off of 72nd Street, the 32-story glass tower was developed by Bluerock Real Estate and Victor Group and features almost 30 full floor residences, fitness center, a children’s lounge, game room, concierge, and 24-hour doorman. The Charles currently has a limited selection of full-floor, four-bedroom units available, with prices ranging from $6,583,500 to $9,882,000.
