For the first time ever, New York City’s Hotel Plaza Athénée is making 10 of its elegant suites—collectively known as the “Luxury Collection”—available for short-term lease.
The opulent offerings include the 1,800-square-foot Presidential Suite, which will be rentable for $40,000 to $80,000 per month—a real steal, considering rates can soar up to $10,000 a night during peak season.
Ranging from two- to four-bedrooms, the splendid pads—some of which are accompanied by glass-encased atriums and balconies—will feature elegantly dressed living and dining spaces decorated with Louis XVI furnishings, along with ultra-plush beds (outfitted with the finest linens), 37-inch flat-screen TVs, and fully-equipped kitchenettes. In addition, the homes’ equally resplendent marble baths will showcase deep-soaking tubs, double sinks, and Bulgari amenities.
"There has always been a gap in the short term luxury rental markets. Condominiums and ultra luxury rental buildings usually require a minimum of a one year lease," explained Douglas Elliman’s Richard Steinberg, the exclusive broker on the properties. "Besides The Waldorf Astoria Hotel, there have been no options like this. Multiple homeowners want to take advantage of all that New York City has to offer for a month or two, but until the release of the ‘Luxury Collection’ of top suites, there have been no choices on the Upper East Side.”
Residents will of course enjoy all of the same perks as the five-star hotel’s guests, which include complimentary, twice-daily maid service, 24-hour room and concierge services, along with access to the cutting-edge fitness hub and exclusive Spa Valmont wellness center.
On-site dining options include Hotel Plaza Athénée’s award-winning restaurant Arabelle, along with Bar Seine, which boasts an extensive wine and cocktail list (on top of afternoon high-tea service).
