Sources disclose that the buyer of the 6,940-square-foot home is not well-known in Norway. “We had a viewing for this person and his family at the very start of winter," says Petter Bikrem of PRIVATmegleren, a Norwegian real estate firm. Prospective buyers were not allowed to bring mobile phones or cameras into the home in order to protect the privacy of the Schumacher family.
Michael Schumacher, his wife Corinna, and their two children have owned the home—located north of Oslo—since the 1990s. The family had considered constructing a $10 million hospital room on the property before its sale.
