Curbed has reported that following the passing of Louisville liquor magnate and philanthropist Owsley Brown Frazier, the family mansion he inhabited in Harrods Creek, Kentucky has been put on the market for $6 million. The estate, which is known as The Avish, features a columned manor-style home, which was built in 1910 by Frazier's grandfather, Owsley Brown. Brown founded the Brown-Forman corporation, a wine and spirits company which owns well-known brands such as Jack Daniel's and Southern Comfort.
The estate boasts some 24 acres of bucolic countryside, with views out over the Ohio River. Since it was built, The Avish, which is listed on the American government's National Register of Historic Places, has undergone significant renovations, with the home now measuring over 20,000 square feet. The grounds feature a barn, garden house, greenhouses, walkways, water features, an indoor pool and solarium, while the six-bedroom home features entertainment and gaming areas.
