TopTenRealEstateDeals.com offers fresh real estate news for luxury and celebrity listings across the United States. Here’s a taste of its Top Ten list:
Joe Cocker's Mad Dog Ranch
British-born rocker Joe Cocker bought a 240-acre piece of land in Crawford, CO back in 1992, and proceeded to top it with a 15,873 square-foot English country manor inspired by the ex-patriot's native roots, instead of the typical ranch house.
The "Mad Dog Ranch" estate, named after the musician's "Mad Dogs and Englishmen" 1970s tour, oozes with the appeal of a grand European manor. It includes seven bedrooms and ten bathrooms, along with a chef's kitchen, a library, a sun room, a music room, and a large terrace that overlooks Cocker's beloved flower and vegetable gardens (which occupy five acres), and the West Elk Mountains. The grounds also offer multiple water features, a natural wildlife habitat, and a barn accompanied by an outdoor riding arena and corral, making equine, hiking, and fishing activities easily accessible.
Cocker and his wife recently put the English-inspired property on the market for $7 million ($7.85 million with furnishings), after deciding to downsize and build a smaller home on land the couple owns just across the road.
Laguna Beach Rock House
The late Dennis Morin's Laguna luxe beachfront home is ensconced within a mammoth boulder.
The software mogul broke apart a giant stone structure and excavated it to build the unique home, reinforcing the concrete roof and ordering the rock, soil, and greenery put back to cover the residence. Upon its completion in 1996, the innovative structure was surrounded by slabs of looming rock and plants, and had a creek meandering through its 3,000 square-foot interior.
Along with two bedrooms––one of which has a rotating bed that allows its occupant to relish the most breathtaking views––and three baths, the nature-themed residence has a great room that bears a retractable wall and blackout drapes that block the glass wall view of the Pacific Ocean, making the space easily convertible into a comfy home theater. The serene property also comes with a hidden wine cellar, as well as exterior terraces built from boulder rock that have a stone spa and a fire pit situated steps from the sand and waves.
Morin passed away in 2012, and his trust has now put it up for sale for a breezy $15 million.
Bahamas Innocence Island Auction
The largest of the most beautiful, privately-owned isles of the Bahamas Exuma chain, Innocence Island epitomizes a floating paradise.
Sporting lush tropical flora and six private beaches, the 681-acre island has a 2,700 foot-long airstrip that can accommodate small private jets, and may be expanded up to 5,000 feet for larger aircrafts. Naturally, it comes with its own airport code (MYEY).
90 feet above sea level––on the peak of Innocence––is a 5,000 square-foot house with six bedrooms and seven baths, boasting 360 degree ocean views. The lavish home can accommodate up to twelve guests, and has numerous spots for dining indoors and out. Other structures on the isle are a hillside bungalow that houses a gym and meditation deck overlooking the bay; a separate four-bedroom Indonesian mahogany residence nearby; and a two-bedroom caretaker's home on the opposite side of the isle.
The plush island will be auctioned by its current owner, who originally purchased it for $55 million, on May 15th.
Old Florida Miami Beach Mansion
Once owned by Jennifer Lopez, this waterfront estate rests along the perimeter of La Gorce Country Club and its legendary golf course.
Priced at $40 million, the actress-singer's former majestic mansion sits on a massive expanse, and comes with a boat dock overlooking the stunning Biscayne Bay and Miami skyline. The Spanish-style house has seven bedrooms and thirteen baths; an elegant curved stairwell in the foyer with a wrought iron banister; an elevator; a theater; a pool and spa; a wine cellar; and a Tensui water purifier, along with built-in Lutron/Creston lighting systems. The 12,183 square-foot home's master suite also has a private terrace, and enormous walk-in closets equipped with security doors.
Cornwall Connecticut Castle
This romantic chateau, erected by elite couple Charlotte Bronson Hunnewell and Dr. Walton Martin in 1921, seems to have leapt off the pages of a classic fairytale.
Made with local field stone and outfitted with historical and artistic materials the couple collected in Europe, the Hunnewell-Martin home was designed by architect Edward C. Dean, and constructed by a crew of exceptionally skilled craftsmen. Poised on rolling green meadows and guarded by a large retaining wall, the estate bears nine fireplaces; several fairytale towers; a slew of antique European artifacts; gargoyles; and arched entryways.
Enveloped by picturesque woods, babbling brooks, and tranquil waterfalls, the elegant residence has a 8,412 square-foot interior, which includes seven bedrooms and ten bathrooms, in addition to formal spaces. Outfitted with modern day mechanical systems, the storybook structure is accompanied by a stone gatehouse that has two apartments, each with two bedrooms; a one-bedroom guesthouse adjacent to the estate's pool and spa; a potting shed; a three-stall horse barn with tack room; a chauffer's garage and apartment; and an additional auto storage space (providing enough room for 18 cars).
Currently on the market for $8.85 million, this incredible property also has its own licensed helipad.
