On Thursday, March 3, Sherwood held a ceremonial tee-off celebrating retired professional golfer Jack Nicklaus, the man who orchestrated the incredible $10.5 million refurbishing of the golf course. The members-only event was star-studded with appearances from actor Craig T. Nelson; the face (and voice) of Allstate, Dennis Haysbert; comedian, Jon Lovitz; and Olympic gold medalist and television personality, Caitlyn Jenner.
To commend the golf course opening, Nicole Van Parys and Gary Nesen hosted an open house at 590 West Stafford Road. This exquisite estate is not only situated behind the gates of the world-renowned Sherwood Country Club, but it is also located on the fourth fairway of the newly redone golf course, which will host the “Champions Tour Tournament” in 2017. Already in high demand, these updates have only amplified the desire to join Southern California’s premier country club.
Gary Nesen is one of Sherwood’s few remaining founding members who attended both of Sherwood’s golf opens in 1989 and 2016. Since both members played in the Founder’s Golf Tournament 27 years ago, Nesen and Nicklaus found time during this event to commemorate this milestone with a photo.
The weekend proved to be a success as Sherwood members eagerly conquered the 7,025-yard par 27 course. Pictured below is the breathtaking view of the fourth fairway surrounded by the gorgeous Santa Monica Mountains. In this verdant neighborhood, sits the elegant home at 590 West Stafford Road.
