Mike Brodie: Luxury Living Can Be Lakefront Too

Nationwide, lakefront homes are worth more than double the value of similar homes located inland. In addition, waterfront properties retain their value more than non-waterfront, which is why so many investors gobble them up. More than ever, American buyers are scooping up second homes.

The fast pace of the city stays behind when you arrive at a lake house. One lake house owner said “my blood pressure drops immediately when I walk in the front door and life just slows down.”

Many lakefront properties offer pools, gourmet outdoor kitchens, large master suites, and other luxury amenities.  You don’t have to give up the comforts of home just because you are at the lake.

Because of the temperate weather in Texas, we are able to entertain at the lake year-round. Lakehouse owners get their money’s worth since there is no such thing as off-season at the lake. Dallas may not be close to a beach, but we still enjoy living and entertaining near the water at the many lakes in our area. Lake Texoma, just north of Dallas on the border between Texas and Oklahoma, is the perfect place to get away for the weekend without a long drive.

One prime waterfront property located on Lake Texoma is Legacy Lakefront Estate, a 11,500 square-foot, six bedroom home with lake views from almost every room built to withstand both time and elements.
