Not surprisingly, luxury home buyers have widely varied tastes and needs. But, whether they are considering an urban penthouse or a country manor, there are a handful of top-priority questions that arise in almost every search:
1. Is it private?
Privacy seems to be the most sought-after commodity. Whether it takes the form of gates, guards, security system outside and in, or shielding landscaping, the perfect residence must combine the ideal degree of luxury and all important security.
2. Does it have a view?
Vistas are inspiring and seem to melt the confines of ordinary walls. City and ocean views heighten the value of any property and have gained tremendous importance in recent years.
3. Is there good flow for indoor-outdoor living?
Southern California opens its doors for both day-to-day living and gracious entertaining. Properties that incorporate this into their design are highly valued.
4. Does it fit our lifestyle?
Some recent trends include a temperature-controlled wine cellar and tasting room, a gym, (a pool and spa have always been a must), a sports court, a screening/media facility, an elevator, dual offices, dual closets, and integrated smart technology.
Whatever their preference in architectural style, today’s luxury home buyers look for exceptional design and craftsmanship using quality materials that express unique personality along with durability, low maintenance, and reduced environmental impacts.
