Louise Remillard Talks Education, Community Culture, and Transportation in Westmount

Can you describe the local school system, and what type of education children get here?

Several of Montreal’s most renowned public and private schools are in Westmount; Selwyn House, St. George’s, Villa Sainte-Marcelline, International School of Montreal, the Study…the list goes on and on. They are a tremendous asset to our community and are one of the reasons why executives on assignment in Montreal choose to live in Westmount with their families.

What is the community culture like?

Most Westmounters are successful professionals or entrepreneurs and are highly educated, on average. The neighborhood is very ethnically diverse, with people belonging to a multitude of religions and speaking several languages other than English and French.

What is transportation like to the area's major surrounding cities, or within the city?

There are 3 subway stations in or in close proximity to Westmount as well as buses on all major thoroughfares in addition to a bike path running the entirety of Westmount. Most Westmounters prefer to own a car, however.
