An outstanding private club community on the Big Island of Hawaii, Kohanaiki offers a casual, yet elegant lifestyle. You’ll enjoy superior service from a team who will spoil you with their ability to be one step ahead of you in anticipating just what will make your day perfect.
At the heart of this 450-acre community is the Clubhouse. Its 67,000 square feet include one of Kohanaiki’s signature restaurants, Kōnane, as well as a deluxe spa, fitness and workout rooms, Members Shop and a lower level that is all about fun and games.
A 4-lane bowling alley is the highlight of a game room with activities for all ages. Pool, foosball, shuffleboard, video and board games are all available. Custom guitars and ukulele hang on the walls waiting for a music aficionado to take them down and play a tune. Next door is a 21-seat movie theatre, and just down the hall are a James Bond-ish style cigar and scotch room, a wine tasting room and private dining rooms. What more could you ask for? Oh yes, a private brewery that offers seasonal beers.
Situated on the Kona Coast means daily sunshine and the warm waters of the Pacific Ocean are part of your back yard. Kohanaiki’s Adventure Team ensures you have the equipment to get you out on the water in an outrigger canoe or in the Club’s 39-foot Yellowfin or into the ocean for snorkeling or SCUBA. These watermen and women provide expert advice and guidance to make your ocean experience unforgettable.
If golf is your game, you’ll love the 18-hole Rees Jones designed course that winds its way through lava flows and historic sites. With more ocean holes than any other course in Hawaii, and comfort stations that will definitely slow down your game, Kohanaiki’s golf is extraordinary. The course is also Silver Signature certified by the Audubon International, acknowledging the careful development and management of the course, and its ongoing efforts to protect native wildlife, conserve water and preserve and rehabilitate the community’s more than 200 anchialine ponds and their marine life.
Your day might end with a drink at the Beach Bar, followed by dinner at the Beach Restaurant.
Executive Chef Patrick Heymann and the culinary team specialize in “coastal cuisine” which includes products sourced locally, as well as from around the world. The menu at the Beach Restaurant changes daily to reflect this philosophy and always includes the fresh catch from Kona’s waters. Wine lovers will appreciate the vintner dinner program and the opportunity to opt into a private wine locker for their favorite bottles.
