Summer Events at the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club

July 15 marked the start of the race season at the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club, but that’s not the only noteworthy event hosted on the grounds this summer. Although best known for horse racing, the tracks are home to a number of spectacular events every year. This summer is no exception. Whether you’re a frequenter of the races, or have yet to visit the tracks, these are a few events you should consider attending this summer.

Gourmet Food Truck Festival

Over 40 food trucks, each serving up a different taste of San Diego, are expected to be part of the event this year. Bring your appetite down to the tracks to experience some of the best food truck dishes around. Admission is free and most items range from $6 to 10. This event also coincides with the Craft Beer Festival featuring over 100 brews.

Classic Car Show

Stop by on August 6 to see a curated collection of vintage and classic cars. This event also coincides with a chili cook off, so don’t forget to bring your appetite!

Donuts Day

On August 13, head to the Thoroughbred Club for coffee, orange juice, donuts, and a behind-the-scenes look at the facilities. The festivities include include question and answer sessions with famous jockeys and trainers while watching the horses during their morning workouts.

The fun doesn’t stop when the sun goes down. Throughout the summer a number of big acts play concerts right at the tracks. So far, the lineup includes the following artists.
