Sun Valley Ski Barn (above)

Shakira's Miami Beach Home
The expression “Blond Bombshell” isn’t powerful enough to describe Shakira Mebarak, Columbia’s hot 5’2” singer, songwriter and model. For first-hand evidence, one only has to watch her new music video with Rihanna, “Can’t Remember to Forget You,” which hit #1 on iTunes within 24 hours of its release. Shakira was in 2013’s “Forbes” list of the 100 most powerful women in the world. She has also been heavily involved in charity work around the globe and has given numerous benefit concerts. Shakira is returning this year to her judge’s seat on NBC’s “The Voice.” In January, she and partner, Gerard Piqué, had their son, Milan in Barcelona where the couple now lives. Piqué is a center back soccer player for FC Barcelona and the Spanish national team.
With Shakira’s success with the song “Whenever, Wherever,” she purchased her Miami Beach home near the popular South Beach in 2001. With a move to Barcelona with her family, she has recently put the home on the market. Though she paid under $4 million in 2001, the home was a three bath, five bathroom, 6,672-square-foot waterfront property, which she enlarged by another 1,700 square feet to include an additional three bedrooms and four more bathrooms. During the renovation, she added wood floors, a state-of-the-art kitchen with Miele appliances and a Sub-Zero refrigerator. Now at 8,355 square feet with six bedrooms and nine baths, the home has a second floor master with nursery-office, a pool and yacht dock.

Florida's Equestrian Estates
Currently for sale is this 15-acre equestrian estate just minutes to the Equestrian Center. Surrounded by lakes and natural vegetation, this estate was designed as the builder’s personal home with fine details in the construction and the highest quality building materials. The 5,700-square-foot residence has four bedrooms, five baths and a separate 750-square-foot guest house with an additional bedroom and bath. Bob Hope's Volcano Home Reduced
Whether viewed as a volcano or a UFO, there’s no doubt that the John Lautner designed home created in 1980 for Bob and Dolores Hope in Palm Springs is a stunning, one-of-a-kind example of Lautner’s flare. When it was listed a year ago at $50 million, it was hard to price since there was no other real estate that was comparable. When it didn’t sell, it was decided to go for a lower price and recently chopped off $16 million. A massive structure at 23,366 square feet, the home has seven bedrooms and nine baths with huge areas for entertaining both inside and out. Perched high above the Coachella Valley on six acres in the exclusive Southridge community, the home has panoramic views over the valley and mountains through its glass walls. The undulating copper roof has large skylights and walls have murals painted by Garth Benton. Made for entertaining, the home has both indoor and outdoor pools and a bar that has welcomed many stars and dignitaries. A natural theme is carried throughout with a greenhouse wall in the master bath and a wall built around a boulder. Though they owned three other homes in Palm Springs, this was the Hopes’ dream home.

“Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” Glass House Sold
After four years on the market, the iconic home that starred in the film, “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,” has finally gone under contract. We’ll never forget watching with horror as the red 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder convertible fell from its jacks and went careening through the plate glass wall into the ravine below. Teenage lesson learned? You can’t remove mileage from an odometer by running a car in reverse. The 1986 film, now a cult classic, starred Matthew Broderick as Ferris, who just wanted to play hookie from school for a day to explore and enjoy the city of Chicago for one last time before the responsibility of college began. With all parents at work, Ferris, his best friend Cameron and girlfriend, Sloan, embarked on their see-the-city tour in Cameron’s dad’s Ferrari. With many mishaps along the way and being trailed by the school dean and Ferris’ sister, the film was clever and probably planted seeds in the minds of too many teenagers. Film writer, producer and director John Hughes, brought to life the high school fantasy of teenagers and memories to adults. Even more interesting is that Hughes wrote the entire script in under a week. It turned out to be the biggest box office hit of 1986.
Iconic “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” house, designed by James Speyer and built by famous textile designer, just went under contract after being on the market for four years. Originally listed in 2009 at $2.3 million, the price was cut to $1.5 million, and was purchased after the most recent reduction to $1.25 million.
