The 2-story estate is owned and was built by renowned Mexican architect/builder/hotelier Carlos Gosselin, who owns the ultra-luxury boutique resort Zoëtry Paraíso de la Bonita Riviera Maya. The home is named after Gosselin’s wife, whom he calls Bonita. This is the first time the 14,268-square-foot home, featuring six bedrooms and seven bathrooms, has been on the market. A home built in 1949, demolished in 1989, originally stood on the lot where the home now stands. From 1992–1994, Carlos Gosselin built the current home after he and his family purchased the land. In 1995, the Gosselin family moved into the completed home.

Situated on a sprawling 40,000-square-foot lot with 100 feet of water frontage, the estate overlooks Biscayne Bay and the Port of Miami. A stately gated entrance ― with gates imported from England ― welcomes guests into the home, which features imported doors from all over the world, and a beautiful courtyard and arched hallways. Features include imported Italian marble floors, century-old Chinese doors, custom-made Hindu doors, a movie theater, elevator, poolside gazebo, all hurricane impact windows, and sunset views. The bathrooms feature Sherle Wagner faucets and fixtures. Gosselin is the previous president of the Hotel Association for Cancun and Puerto Morelos. “This spectacular estate owned by Carlos Gosselin represents the epitome of luxury,” said Jill Hertzberg of The Jills. “With sprawling space, exquisite appointments, spectacular views and more, this is a property that is not to be missed.”
Star Island, a man-made island, is an exclusive enclave of ultra-luxury homes. It has been home to some of the most high-profile residents in Miami from celebrities to ex-presidents.
